WHAT IS SOUND TUNING?

 

Sound Tuning is a new sound methodology conceived and developed by composer Andreas Tsiartas. It is the result of an ongoing research for the last ten years. Sound Tuning focuses on the origins of sound as a physical phenomenon, as well as on its various applications as evidenced in the oral and written traditions across the globe, expanding therefore, the knowledge we currently have as to what sound is and what it is capable of achieving. It proposes a different method as with regards to applying sound and sound frequencies, not merely for compositional and artistic purposes, but also for a holistic, all-encompassing, approach that treats every living being as an electromagnetic receptor. Sound Tuning draws on the effects of sound on all electromagnetic existence of our physical world and offers numerous possibilities to contemporary composers and music theorists regarding a number of techniques that can be revisited and reapplied.
